Born in the blood from day number one
Came out screaming like a bullet from a gun
My Mama smiled said, the boy can sing
Glory, glory, it’s a beautiful thing
She took me in her arms and held me tight
Rocked me off to sleep
Every single night
And the music, the music, the music, was my first love
I used to fidget in my seat
Tapping both my feet
Can’t say I did to well in school
I was different than most kids
Outsider on the skids
Trying not to lose complete control
I dreamed that I was Elvis
Preforming on the stage
I dreamed I met the Beatles
And we all got up to play
And the music, the music, the music, was my first love
Guitar and drums piano and some horns
Put me on the old dance floor
Every junkies got his drug, been bitten by the bug
And all he ever wants is for more
I’ll never get my fill
You know I never will
When push comes to shove
Born in the blood
And the music, the music, the music, was my first love

Reach deep down inside yourself
Reach deep down and see what you find
If you’ve got question if you’ve got doubts
Reach deep down inside yourself
You’ve been looking for answers
You’ve been looking for a friend
Turning every corner
Rounding every bend
You’re out on the highway
You’re learning the cost
You just keep searching
For the things you’ve lost
Reach deep down inside yourself
Reach deep down and see what find
If you’ve got question if you’ve got doubts
Reach deep down inside yourself
You’re going to drive yourself crazy
Trying to keep that pace
You’ve been running in circles
You’re losing the race
You talk about leaving
You know you will someday
But you’ve got that empty feeling
That never goes away
Reach deep down inside yourself
Reach deep down and see what find
If you’ve got question if you’ve got doubts
Reach deep down inside yourself

You’ve been wanting something more
You’ve got one foot out the door
The choice is clear, the voice you hear
Is telling you, it’s time to move on
You’re getting closer to the edge
You’ve been looking off the ledge
There’s a beach, far from the reach
Of those who said you can’t
It’s where all your dreams come true
Life belongs to you
Money doesn’t rule
You won’t be a fool
Go on out, have yourself some fun
Doing what you love
Doing what you love
From the time that you were born
Your life was stained and torn
You did your best, to pass each test
In a world where you had to conform
You always fought against the wind
Now you find that it’s your friend
It lifts you up, you can’t stop
The erg to spread your winds
It’s where all your dreams come true
Life belongs to you
Money doesn’t rule
You won’t be a fool
Go on out, have yourself some fun
Doing what you love
Doing what you love
The walls are falling
The world is call
And now, you’re learning
Doing what you love
Doing what you love
Doing what you love

I watched you balance on the wire
There ‘d be no compromise
There may be wrong, there may be right
But, you weren’t taking sides
You said that once you went that path
You said that once you tried
All you got was a broken heart
And you still have the scares
Never once again will you think surrender
Never to pretend or give away your power
I leaned deep into your world
Pasted through you like a ghost
There parts you freely showed
There where parts you guarded close
You were brave you were strong
You bared your naked soul
You always stood your middle ground
When the wind began to blow
Never once again will you think surrender
Never to pretend or give away your power
We both crossed an ocean to meet upon this shore
Strangers in a strange land in search for who we are
Here you validate me with wisdom as our gift
We’re both moving forward now with a feeling we can trust
Never once again will you think surrender
Never to pretend or give away your power

She had a feeling when they first met
There was something there that they couldn’t explain
He felt it to right from the start
It felt so good being with her
They walked beneath the canopy
Where trees wore shades of summer green
With the innocence when love is new
He took her hand she turned to him
And there upon that country road
Is where the two professed their love
And they never will forget that first kiss
It had been a long, long time
Of holding out for a secret desire
Waiting for the day to find another
To share the joys of life
Like somewhere in a fairy tale
Or a sweet love song that you’ve heard
Such a wonderful thing to happen, happened to them.
Maybe you can stay
Maybe one more day
We can make some plans for our tomorrows Maybe you can stay
There must be a way
We could build a home, we could live together
This too could be a story told
Of how the loved ones meet, like kindred souls
As if they’ve known each other all along
And the dream had just come true
They talk about a twist of fate
Of where and when and destiny
And of how you turn a corner, there it is
Maybe you can stay
Maybe one more day
We can make some plans for our tomorrows
Maybe you can stay
There must be a way
We could build a home, we could live together
Maybe you could stay
Maybe you could stay
Stay
Stay
